Why this project?
We built La Cordée after realising that, although there are more and more autonomous workers, they are often very lonely. We definitely want to tackle that loneliness. How? We created a joyful and caring community where people are happy to work alongside, or even better: together.
Why la Cordée?
Just like in the mountains, we believe that:
We are safer together
Being autonomous in your work is such an amazing feeling of freedom. But being free usually comes with having to forget about job security, and needing to be always looking for means of survival. That is, business. We believe that mixing people from so many different horizons multiplies the business and personal opportunities.
We are stronger together
In a World where we are surrounded with information, data, technics, trainings… it’s good to have nice people around to go explore all the possibilities it gives you.
It’s way funnier together!
Working on a project with people, balancing your ideas around the table, debating on which way to go around the coffee (or tea!) maker… are so many occasions to share nice moments, conversations and laughter, as well as helping you grow.
Want to get to know the team?
It’s an awesome one!
Coworking is an idea, a way of re-thinking about work, that appeared in San Francisco over the summer of 2005. Quite a young idea indeed, but already so studied. So much that it gets quite difficult to agree, in between coworking spaces, on a single definition of it. So here is our own definition.
Making meeting new people easier, provoking serendipity
Serendipity is the happy and unplanned luck that puts exactly what you need in front of your eyes at the right time. That’s saying “S*** I just got stood up by the nanny for tonight!” and having someone near you saying “Oh I know one who would do perfectly, and I think she’s available for tonight!”. Serendipity explodes when working alongside.
Bringing together work and happiness
For us, coworking is based on the assumption that work and happiness are not necessarily contradictory. It is totally possible to be happy at work. Even more, we believe that the space in which we evolve everyday plays a strong role on our happiness level.
A support for the freelancer
Services et professionnalisme. Tous les points cités précédemment ne nous ferons pas oublier notre fonction : être un écosystème de travail, d’orientation et de soutien pour les professionnels. C’est la raison pour laquelle les membres viennent chez nous.
La Cordée is a project…
… with strong moral values
(clicking on the buttons will bring you on #French written pages)
We believe in the development of a local economy, with small shops instead of super-large malls. That is why our coworking spaces are human-sized and locally implanted. We take the local as far as we can, trying whenever possible to buy local and partner with local organizations…
Being part of a group is usually nice: whether it’s when sharing a meal (the French love to share meals), getting help on running your new software, getting adivce on running your company. It’s in la Cordée’s DNA to create happy groups.
Trust is such an important thing at La Cordée. We give it right away when you become a member: feel free to come and go and use everything from day 1, with your 24/7 full access to every Cordée space. We will be honest with you from the start: no hidden costs, no hidden anything. We’re pretty transparent. And our coworkers tend to be as well, as a result.
Sharing a workspace and working tools, reducing your ecological footprint by riding to work instead of taking your car, is already quite good environmentally. But we try to go further than that: we consume only green electricity, buy organic food for our breakfasts and snacks, recycle our waste, give the things we don’t use anymore…
Because we believe in the potential of working together, we try to raise high the colors of that new movement. By pushing our ideas always a bit further, by trying to reach new regions, new people… Human-sized, but with impact!
We know that the best ideas come from the people we try to serve, as well as from the team. So there is no “higher” committee that decides about everything. Every opening, every event idea… is submitted to the population!
and so much Fun!
You don’t need to be serious to be taken seriously. What brings us together, in the beginning and in the end, is big bursts of laughter and the occasional play on words. So we like to joke around…
